Brian Outinen

Director of Vendor Management, Indigenous Relationships and ESG

Brian has been a fixture at NATIONS, with a previous role as Manager of Indigenous Languages. He has worked for the Translation Bureau of Canada as a simultaneous Ojibwe Language translator for two live televised Federal election debates, translated for the Senate and Parliamentary floor in Ottawa, and the Nuclear Commission of Canada.

One of his biggest moments was during Pope Francis’ visit to Canada in 2022, where he was the voice of the Pope, speaking to the Ojibwe People in Canada as his interpreter.

His new role as Director of Vendor Management, Indigenous Relationships and ESG includes overseeing processes in the organization, managing suppliers, and ensuring service delivery. As the Indigenous Strategy and ESG manager, he is responsible for maintaining and acquiring new Indigenous language projects and overseeing our Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) program.
